A new way to get your regular repeat prescriptions.
If you or someone you care for uses the same medicines regularly, you may be able to benefit from using the NHS Electronic Repeat Dispensing (ERD) Service.
This means that you won’t have to re-order or collect your repeat prescriptions from the surgery every time you need more medicine. Please click on the link below to find out more.

Repeat Prescriptions
We run a computerised prescription service. Requests need to be made in writing either on your request form (tick the items you require) or on a piece of paper with your name, address and date of birth and the items you require. You can also use our ONLINE service.
You may obtain your repeat prescription by:
- handing in your prescription repeat slip to the receptionist
- ONLINE (In order to request repeat medication online you must have previously obtained the necessary access codes. Please ask at reception for details if you would like to use this service)
We do not accept telephone requests for prescriptions.
Once we have received the request it will take two full working days to be processed. We do not work Saturdays, Sundays or bank holidays. Once the prescription has been processed in most cases we will send this to your nominated pharmacy (unless you tell us otherwise something else is required).
If you want us to send an electronic prescription to an out of area pharmacy - we will need you to provide the postcode of the chemist for us to be able to process this request.
We do not fax prescriptions to chemists unless it is a medical emergency.
Medication Reviews
Your GP will want to review you regularly while you are on medication. There is a review date on the repeat medication form. If this is overdue we may send you a reminder message to ask you to make an appointment to see your doctor as soon as possible. It may not be possible for us to issue more medication unless you have seen your doctor.
Chemist Delivery or ordering Services
You will need to check with your nominated pharmacy regarding the services they offer.
Medication Queries
If you have any problems or queries about your medication you should make an appointment with your usual doctor to discuss this or you could contact your local pharmacist and he/she will also advise you.
